BC why do people want this

WHy do so many people want BC on the PS3, ps2 games look rubbish in comparison and once you play a ps3 game on a full hd tv you will never look back, as far as the uk getting ripped off, i agree but we have to make the most of it and there are some reasonable ps3 deals out there, now the 80 gb has come out you can get the 40gb for £285 at cheap ps3 it's not much of a discount but better than a kick in the Aris!

European VAT

@fud dispeller.

You would think someone going on about VAT would know what their talking about in the first place...

VAT here is 17.5%. If that were the case, we would be looking and something like £235($470) probably upto £250, yet the way its going, is like were being made to pay an extra 50%.

Were still getting screwed anyway, regardless of price, as it will still have no backwards compatability, and sony still wont do anything to fix THEIR OWN MISTAKE...

DualShock 3 finally?

Is the new 80GB SKU going to come bundled with the new DualShock 3 controller, now that it's been officially released over here (as opposed to import), or will it still ship with the older non-rumble SIXAXIS controller?

Also... will this new SKU feature the die-shrinks on the CPU and GPU? There was some news die-shrinks were coming in Autumn, which would mean smaller chips, less heat, less cooling, less fan noise, i.e. a quieter experience. Something important to us all!

3rd world distributing

How does a company with a POM as it's leader continually shaft the UK and Australia?

Though I wouldn't really blame Sony, as much the moronic distributers of media in Europe and Australia. Here in Oz we do not have ANY downloadable madia outside of some minor iTunes content.

They dom't want to do it because of piracy. How can they be when it's a small market, even if a few DID pirate, it would be miniscule, now adjust that percentage for the Seppos and it's WAY more money lost. these distro companies are blinking retarded.

European pricing

You would think someone that lives in Europe would know about VAT by now....

You can thank your own greedy government for your inflated product pricing.

Yup, SONY rips off its custumers again.

Tell me again! Why do we have to pay more for an 80GB version of the same 40GB inferior console version without Backwards Compatibility!?! Without those store items coming over here, this version is pretty much useless. Oh wait, I forgot...You can put more and more useless game installs on there!

Rip Off Sony/UK again....

So $400 in the State's and the equivalent of $600 in the UK.

Just how long are we in the UK expected to subsidise the US consumer.
