@Damage

I think three cards would entail a hex-SLi solution, and given the problems with quad SLi I doubt hex SLi will become a reality soon.

So...

~ 200W in idle mode, I suppose? Or did the brilliant heads at NVidia finally managed to get this down to an impressive ~150W?

A switch from 8800GTX to 2400HD brings saving of 70W-80W in idle mode. Ok ok, 2400HD is one of the worst gaming cards. But idle means: just draw this desktop. A card should not use 100W for this. And a GX2 can get easily to about 200W

benchies

I don't think the benchmarks in that link really represent the 9800GX2:

Hrmm

Take note, only one SLI bridge header, so 2 cards will be ok, 3+ not?

could be faked

The forum you link to pulls from another forum, and that forum has a link to another forum that the poster right after it says it didn't work anymore. seems kinda suspicious

!@#$!

Wow, was thinking last night, this would be the perfect next card for me as I don't really want to sacrifice 2 slots for SLI anymore.

2 DVI ports though? !@%$ off. 4 should be present on said card, and now I will have to get an 8800 gt and waste 2 slots of my stupid 6600gt and its huge cooler to have 2 extra monitors.

DAMMIT NVIDIA!
