Methinks that they are wrong

The Palamida Software website is tracking adoption of GPL V3 here:

http://gpl3.palamida.com:8080/index.jsp

From the numbers that they show it looks like adoption is going well. I think that Evans Data may have messed up their figures.

This is a sheepish reaction which is just caused by Linus Torvalds' refusal to adopt the new license. 

It doesn't restrict you any more than GPLv2 at all: only companies that want to create "patent minefields" through free software or that want to ride on open source's success but not give anything back by using it in their hardware and not providing the source code (the ONLY requirement that GPLv3 adds in this instance) are at a "disadvantage". But for people who are against software patents and other such nonsense, this new license is a god-send.
