might be great (if it works)

if they can sell it cheap enough, it's a good thing.
SSDs are so appallingly expensive when it comes to decent HDD size, that for general desktop use it's absolutely useless.

if it works, and costs under 50$, it will be a godsend.

BEATS HDD by Mile.

Self-Monitoring, Anaylsis & Reporting Technolgy, S.M.A.R.T. for short was BIG advancement that came to Zilch. If you have lot of Mirrors, it might help little in locating defective HDD, yet in 99.999% of all drives it never did anything. Once broken moving to 15 sectors (from 16) hoping BAD sector was skipped was only solution. So Much Yabada is just that.

Here SSD is future & Pcie 1X is one more memory slot. Think of platter spinning while heads swipes b
Back & Forth, making complex read calculations, throwing out most of read data & taking considerable time to move platter back to active sector. Just Slow, Noisy & Hot. Expensive too, as it turned out.

So every Step forward with SSD is Miracle. No Spinning Gears, Nothing more than catalog address. Pokes into machine just about everywhere. & ide is like eniac, something from Mans Ancient Past.

Turbo has to beat smart for usefulness & SSD cann't be Beaten. That is: SSD 'd Unbeatable.
