Actually I agree with everyone here regarding everything. On the flipside of the coin, maybe it's not about the waste of money on the technology and components they used to produce the picture (CPU vs GPU).

I'm looking at it like this.
1.) Robot. Creating a picture, one pixel at a time with low resolution and FPS.
2.) Paintball Gun. Creating a picture in a single shot with high resolution and high FPS.

At the end of the day, I'm happy with my 'good part' 3870 - but I'm expressing my theory as to the purpose of the video.

expect larabee to be all that powerful. Intel's talked more crap than Nvidia about how great it's "Extreme" chipsets work. Doesn't mean that it won't be good, no no. I just won't hold my breath with anticipation. One thing Intel has shown me: Talk big, even if you're carrying a twig (see also: Pentium D vs A64 X2). Heck they talked big as sh*t as the A64 was pounding them in benchmarks.

Wasn't until Core hit the market that they actually earned the right to talk big again.

Can you please get a comment from Nvidia about whether either of these toys used a CPU or GPU inside them?

If so then why were 2 men controlling the little robot with a remote control and a push with a hand? Are they saying that a CPU was controlling the 2 men?

And the large one, that's not a robot, that was just a bunch of tubes with ink and compressed air. Where is the GPU controlling that?

This has a spin without substance written all over it.

Instead of speinding tens of thousands on 1 minute toy show, they should be focusing on repairing their damaged repuation as a maker of known-to-fail-soon chips.

NVidia - not only do we make poor quality product and then stuff the customer, we also spend time and money playing with toys instead of fixing our business.

I would love to see how a PC would render a graphics scene without a CPU in the socket, and a lovely pair of DX10 (not DX10.1 'cause Nvidia don't do that do they?) Nvidia cards in the PCI express slots.

I hope Larabee turn to be a really powerful solution, so NVidia will regret that circus show they did. We are talking about Intel... I don't think Intel would launch a crap graphic solution this time... After all, they are putting too much effort on it, it's not another integrated graphic chip, it's something like Fusion, but bigger... I'm expecting a big Intel product to get the graphics competion even wilder.

i mean... i was expecting something more... "incudaligent". For me the first LEO robot was more amazing. In the end it seemed to be more skilled than the big one. The big one was like a inkjet with a fixed printing head. Dumb and huge. I do like cuda a lot, really. But this demostration just demostrated quite the opposite: LEO was more skilled than the big one. Not as fast, but more capable.

What was the big message? That NV sucks because they are selling dodgy GPU's mixed in with newly repackaged GPU's without identifying to the public which ones are the bad product? No. Was the message the fact that ATI is kicking NV's rump all over the place in every segment? Nope, not that. Some sort of symbolic gesture to piss Intel off so that when the whole "melting GPU" scandal blows up in NV's face and Intel comes a callin' to bend them over and ream them with no luby... I mean, MERGE them into the fold (resistance is futile), it won't be with lowered lights and Barry White music after all? PROBABLY. LOL!!!
