the makers of that board game might kick up a fuss if Intel and nvidia merged, it would give them a massive share in the Graphics and chipset business......

if nvidia stopped making nforce chipsets for AMD CPU's. What would happen to AMD's market share or AMD itself

AMD would need help? (especially in the chipset market) a return to the game by Via?

Bigblue, samsung, or sun joining forces with AMD?

who knows but if AMD dies, the average selling price of a PC goes up.

From a business perspective, it wouldn't make sense for Intel to acquire Nvidia, in my opinion. Intel considers itself the most technically savvy semiconductor company and the intense NIH (not invented here) by Intel middle and lower management should the executives try to bring in Nvidia talent and ideas would cause much waste of time and resources as the two sides battled for supremacy. And the Intel insiders would end up winning such a battle as even the most powerful and savvy executive knows that success depends on having the troops follow your orders. And one of the quickest ways to lose the confidence of those you lead is to bring in an outsider, the implication being that you, the insider, are incompetent and the company needs to turn to outsiders to succeed.

No, if Intel does acquire Nvidia, it will be with the intent to bury it. Deep. Of course, would Jen be happy playing second or lower fiddle to Intel, or would he bolt and present a possible future challenge? After all, he did a successful startup of ONE graphics company, why not another?

Methinks some stock types are looking to artificially boost the stock price of Nvidia, then sell and take their profits. Happens all the time.

I'm not sure if Intel were even allowed to buy Nvidia. It would become too powerful and definitely crush AMD completely.
Why in the world would Intel buy Nvidia when it doesn't have to? For kicks? Just for the heckuvit?
