I really enjoy reading stuff about the old days when the real geeks built them from kits.

These people are to be admired and respected.

I had a wire wrap tool but it wasn't electric and my "solder" wasn't blue.

But yeah, it's not a soldering iron. Interesting article. Thanks for publishing it. I would have loved to attended the meet with some of my own vintage hardware and software.
I wanna go there some time. I am adding it to my life goals.

Thats not a soldering iron - it's a wire wrap tool. Thats a prototypers tool of choice.
