Not surprising to see the 8800GT score just as well if not better than the aging 8800GTX. Afterall, the GTX has been out for about a year now. What else would one expect from a die shrink from 90nm to 65nm. Intel already proved that a move like that (die shrink) can indeed yield outstanding results. But, what isn't mentioned very often in hardware reviews is that the 8800GT actually has more transistors than the 8800GTX. Also, the GT sports a new V2 engine for playing HD video content and sports PCI-E 2.0, albeit that technology is of no practical use as the PCI-E 1.1 slot doesn't even come close to saturation with todays graphics processors...maybe in about 2-3 years. Bottomline fo me was that I skipped the GT madness as I already own a GTX. Thanks, but I think I'll wait for the 8900GTX in March-April 08 ;o)
