Asus have never stopped shipping eeePC's with CeleronM's so nothing has changed. The models with the Atom have a much desired battery life though. 
PS- how many of these old Celerons can Intel have sitting around?
The netbooks using the Celeron M aren't that much worse off then those with the Atom. New and shiny is always desirable, but the performance and efficiency delta is small.
