According to todays conference call, nVidia is currently shipping 55nm to its partners. Any comments?

Just in the last month, you've told us so many lies, you simply have no credibility left.

How about all those new layoffs, every fift person? The discontinued chipset business? That the reported failing GPU is the tip of an iceberg?

Rumour mill has it that you are telling lies to avenge some bloke for your syfillis problems. So say my (reliable) sources.

They did have to come up with a new card size spec.... which they did without telling anyone. :P
GX2 could be possible
If Nvidia really wants to make a 280 GX2 then it should be possible if the card is water cooled. The power dissipation would be too high for air cooling but should not be too difficult for water cooling.

I doubt they would go to the trouble and expense of making a dual gpu card just to sell it to the relatively small watercooled niche market
This is slightly more than just an optical shrink. When a chip is respun it means that its design has had to be changed again. Nvidia are changing the internal layout of the die to try and achieve higher shader clocks. The shaders are low clocked on the gt200 like the 8800gtx. Look at how shader clocks increased with the g92 (8800gt/gts) they went from 1300mhz to nearly 1700mhz. I believe nvidia hopes to increase the gt200 shader from 1300 to 1600mhz. This will give a sizeable boost in performance but its going to be too late in febuary. Nvidia could be in trouble here as that 1.4b transistor chip is just too complex and the ATI offering is smaller and going to be easier to modify and manufacture.
Originally world had its first card, Model 1. worked its way to 10 then 20,....50 & finally 100, with cd rom special on/off at 100.1, Don't be fooled by 20 years since, even level 100 graphics is on change & changed to be NT6, then 150 came thru agin, 200 got HOT & now 300 are on Main, Yet theres BIG Ultimat jump in hurddles, its' straight thru to 800, that step up from 600 before world invented 900, as TOP.

Today its 290 delayed, maybe Dr Duncer gets its' chipset fevor, Only OverLords Know for ?Sure. Continuing 90 as high p0oint in series. if one prognosticates on papertraining, $2.95 might of been number 1, very lonelynumber by now.

There are supposedly G100, GT130, GT140 and G150 55nm shrinks of the current mid and low end 9xxx lineup coming before the end of the year.

Any news if these are on track and of possible increases in clocks and decreases in power?
You're so right. It's so dead, that it's being released on Jan. 8th. Deep trouble indeed. Just one more blow to the credibility, no big deal.
And the above obviously is too. You have no idea what’s coming or when.

FLAME ON! Bring on the water... poor Charlie. With you 'til the end my friend.
First Post!!!

Oh yeah, and ATI is for sux0r5!!!!111 ;-)
The style of your writing is unprecedented in Tech, comparable with the Magee guy only.

Another insightful article into the graphics card world, even if it is *slightly* biased, it is very useful information anyway. Keep it up charlie

I was waiting for GT206. Concretely the GX2 part before Xmas. Having read the article...should I go now for the 4870X2?

Thx
