If you've been following Android, you'd know that it's STILL on track for a Q4 release as Google originally promised. HTC's Dream handheld will be released then (which hasn't changed so far), with other manufacturers such as LG and Samsung following in Q1 2009.

Personally, I'm sticking with my iPhone, but the Dream will be an interesting device nonetheless.
You mean the company who sells only stock and ads, and never gets a project out of beta, has trouble when it comes to actually releasing a physical product?

I'm shocked.
Seems that the Android platform is suffering from "beta syndrome" just like every other Google product.

I love Google stuff, but they do ride the beta horse a little too long.
wow. i've never read an article that was actually funny for face value. normally, i'm groaning and complaining about horrid british-english crap, such as "vole" or whatever.

i've been reading this site for YEARS, and this is the first time you guys have referenced douglas adams: for the love of crap, he's the only funny thing your country has produced in years: PLEASE QUOTE HIM MORE & STOP USING STUPID BRITISH SLANG OF YOUR OWN DEVISING: YOU'RE NOT FUNNY ON YOUR OWN -- PLEASE USE REFERENCES THE WHOLE WORLD WILL UNDERSTAND, NOT JUST THE SIX OF YOU READING/WRITING IT IN GLASTONBRIDGE OR WHATEVER
I'm trying to figure out if I could care even less about this ridiculous thing
1) I don't care about google
2) No one really cares about google except lemmings
3) I guess we need another smartphone, because they are so important to life
4) I also don't care about iphones, or any other trendy nonsense
5) What is a smartphone anyway
6) If you get depressed over this kind of stuff, kill yourself
I think this puts Apple's achievements with the iPhone software platform into perspective. Creating a whole new platform isn't an easy task, even when you're leveraging existing technology (Linux + Java-like runtime + Java-like APIs).

It'll probably have cut-and-paste before the iPhone though.
Life, don't talk to me about life.

Here I am, Brain the size of a planet brain the size of a planet and they ask me to take your calls. Call that job satisfaction? 'Cos I don't.
