If only people knew exactly what 'lie detectors' actually detected - well they sure as heck cannot detect lies!

But if you 'have nothing to hide you don't have anything to fear' - right? Automated enforcement criminalises the law abiding whilst it makes the determined criminal's life soooo much easier!
odd, i'm pretty sure tossing a coin is 50/50. that's slightly better. then 95% failing rate. of course it would help a lot if we knew the percentage of people frauding the system. if only 5% fraud, then that machine is, by my very awesome scientific calculations, absolutely very 100% useless
Aldritch Aimes used Valium and friends to help fool polygraph testing done in person by ostensible experts at the CIA. Fooling this is rather more trivial.
...and seeing as politicians like these things so much, they would obviously be delighted to have an on-screen lie detector for all their news interviews. Or maybe not...

Clever, buy a machine you can blame for your anti-social tendencies!
A boon for any public service surely.

Why do you Brits buy phony meta-scientific junk like lie detectors anyway? Torture is far more reliable.
Sorry.
