This is a publicity stunt. It wreaks of a planned publicity stunt with her new album getting released and he trying to move away from her teen/disney image. Shes hoping to launch her adult career and get a little more "edgy". Dont fall for it.
Without reading anything else about this "scandal" but remembering past iterations of this involving Paris Hilton and others, my guess is thus: the phone was not hacked. Instead the password for Miley's vendor / carrier web portal was guessed.
All the pix get saved there and this d00d figured out her password and copied them.

Just a guess.
How much we don't need all this crap in our phones, unless we do know how to deal with it.

I mean, i bet she wasn't smart enough to close down the bluetooth connection. Fact is that unless you know what the features of a cel phone are then you shouldn't get them at all just because it's the latest technology, yo have to get them because you need them and you know what they can do for you. Or else you end up like this fine girls having your phone hacked.
I thought it was a worthy story since we all have phones.
I am interested in how the phone was hacked and if we can all make our phones more secure. Since most of us have mobiles this could affect a lot of people. Some phones contain sensitive business information, so this is definitely relevant for an IT publication, even if it's a bit "wet t-shirt".

Was it's bluetooth switched on and left open for everyone? That would be my guess for how they got access, if it truly was hacked. Celebs have often posed for leaked pictures in order to drum up press coverage. Has this celeb got a new song/movie/book/tv show coming out?
Why is this crap on here? Oh nevermind - it has something tangentially to do with Apple and it is written by Nick "Have I told you how much I love Apple?" Ferret.

Has this site really fallen this far? Nice reporting Nick... you must be proud! All those years of school for this... kudos! And before you try to justify this with a well a phone was hacked lame excuse... the reason you described the photos was? It added to the story how?

And kudos to the Inquirer for publishing this! While you're at it why not post the pictures too? Surely a verbal description is not enough!
There are slow news days, and then there is this. It's even on the top stories list!

Miley has a new CD out. You should check it out. It is the best thing since American Idol.
