j2ee complexity is purposeful

it is not expected from a programmer to be expert at implementing entire API. rather it goes according to the domain they work in. there is no point arguing over the vastness of the language. the programmer has to focus on the portion of API relevent to his concern. and its commendable that java has effectively designed every package detailed enough and at the same time obscuring the technical complexities involved.
