The same source reports that 80% of the 253 million Chinese Internet users have a broadband connection. Eighty Percent! Anyone who thinks that the Internet's only purpose is to pirate cheap movies is an idiot.

At the same time the MAFIAA and US ISPs are doing everything to throttle the Internet in the US and to block traffic which might threaten their monopoly in the future, such as traffic FROM the Internet TO the customers' home (e.g. the customers' own web server or other services). The very same MAFIAA is also handling affairs in the EU. Thank you!

BTW, there are 600 million Chinese using mobile phones.
"The United States had an estimated 223.1 million Internet users in June"
That can't be right, that would mean almost every person including the elderly and babies used internet (US has 301 million people), that's not conforming to earlier older reports that the US actually wasn't so high on the list (25th) in regards of ubiquity of internet with 50% of households, not persons, households.
But perhaps the idea is that nielsen counted households then multiplied with average number of people in a household or some such silliness skewing the figures, but even then I have my doubts about the figures.
I always knew those Chinese were perverts!
Charlie dont surf.
