Me thinks its time for another BBC project like the BBC B machine. But this time for Internet access is required?

Nice wee Linux box costed like the EEE PC and an accompanying programme would go down well perhaps?

Why does this article portray not hanging on the internet as bad? I personally think that internet isn't for everybody, and I think that perhaps many of the type of people that don't use internet much are happier and better off.
Why the hell do you want old people in romania to hang on the internet anyway, for instance? what good will that do anybody?
"As a result, the EU is now trying to push the various governments to reduce the price of the technology needed for people to get online, by breaking state telecom monopolies and introducing more competition to bring the prices down. In this way, they hope that more people will be able to afford Internet connection in the future."

the problem is the cost of PC's not the cost of internet.ISP's have decent prices and (at least here in Romania) speeds are better then the average EU speeds.but when the average net income is less then 300 euros/month buying a PC is not that easy so most are forced to only use the internet at work (hardware prices are about the same,or a bit higher, as in the rest of the EU or 50-60% higher then in the US)
