Marketing people are like super viruses, they will infect anything they can find and litter it with their trash till it is unusable.

Advertising in games really T's me off. You can't run a web page at full screen these days because 40% of it is advertising down each side.

Pop-ups litter the screen if you leave a page open too long. I get so much effing spam that I have to change my email address every two years.

Same for my house mail…but I can’t change my address. Gmail scans your email for key words so they can advertise in sink with your subjects. Pharma advertises prescription drugs to consumers as if they can diagnose themselves.

Stupid @holes are wrecking everything to get more money. Same as above, Adobe is such a giant turd that bogs your system down…now there are advertisements to stink it up even more.

Great job.
Could we please have this article reprinted in non-ambiguous form, as the current content could mean many things. admittedly the headline suggests one interpretation, but the content makes no sense.
Yet another reason I'm happy I don't use Adobe's Reader trash as my primary PDF reader on any platform. That bloated piece of garbage has been unusable since about version 4.0.
If it's only advertising in pdf form...why not? However if my clients will have to endure ads when viewing pdf files from us then we'll drop Adobe in a second. Let me guess we'll have a "non-free" version of reader if one doesn't want ads? All in all advertising on the web has gotten so distracting that I turn off most supporting plug-ins on Firefox.
If it upsets any of you, just use Free and less bulky PDF readers, theres loads of GPLed ones out there. Also, did you know there is loads of GPL software for greating PDFs? You can save as PDF from openoffice and many other bits of software or use the virtual PDF printer (also Free software). This is all community produced stuff so you might not get comercial support for it, but its great for what I need :)
People pay to be able to write things in pdf... adding adds they might object to will not incourage people to buy adobe's software.

In fact it they controlled what adds went on my pdf's I would never use their software again.

So, just add the yahoo server to hosts.txt file, boom, all ads blocked. Works wonders for a number of ad programs.

are we talking 'ads in pdf form' here, or free ad-supported versions of ebooks, or ads in the free version of adobe reader?

It's bad enough that pdf even exists, why in the hell do we need ads in pdf form?
amen for adblock.
