The 8700M is still the tops till the retail release of the 8800M GTX.
I have the 8700M and can't play Crysis on max settings with a Q6600 Quad Core and 2mbs ram.
Remember 8600 with 1/4 SP than 8800, but have 1/2 performance? If Nvidia can make SP as much as 8800 with 8600 architech, AMD will defenetely loose more that they already now.

was the 8700m, not the 8600.
The previous best from nvidia was the 8700 not the 8600.
I believe the previous top of the line was the 8700m gt... That's what all the system builder's put in their top machines.
You can also expect 15 min battery life so I wouldn't really call it a mobile chip...
