Despite what Nvidia (and the Inq) would seem to believe, the overwhelming majority of computers are NOT sold to play games.

Integrated graphics are just fine for the majority of people, thanks very much, and Intel know it. Even the user with one or two games at home, is not interested in spending money on graphics hardware.

Nvidia should stick to it's knitting... producing high-end (read: expensive) toys for those freaks who would sell their grandmother to have the latest tweak.

Perhaps if they focussed on one thing and actually tried to achieve excellence, instead of producing more half-assed and poorly supported junk, they would create the strong user support they desire, and Intel would leave them alone.
Thanks, for this article is one of the few that have addressed many aspects of the NV and intel GPU/CPU war and added points from AMD and their up and their up and coming technologies too. I thought this article was put together quite well.
Even if Intel has loads of new CPU's it doesn't matter. Because the software doesn't scale yet. Just look at how much time it takes them to recompile a new version for Vista!

And speaking of teraflops. This is in most cases important for the small high end market. Even if Intel makes a killer GPGPU, they still need to solve the problem with bandwidth.

DAMMIT and NVIDIA have loads of technology related to make mid-range cards perform OK. Making the fast execution units is only half the problem. The rest is to fix all the mass most of the game developers does in the real games.
These three biggus chippyus' triumvirate dictate mainboard design. I haven't seen any motherboards without CPU sockets. Jen Hsun Huang should put silicon where his mouth is.
If it's all about the bus or who is writing OS compilers, maybe Nvideo can ditch the bus, and get us a decent lorry!
Chipzilla sees the need for multiple types of CPUs, and both DaAmIT and Nut-n-vidia offer various AIBs and IGPs; but God Save the Queen! If Mr. Jen Hsun Huang has a Jack-in-the-box one-stop solution, then in short chivvy, Graphzilla will be as fit as a Pembroke Welsh Corgis' dervish (or some other such dwarvish). No need to fanny about laughing at Larry Abbey.
Larrabee seems to have shifted gears & perhaps team. Nvidia wants to outlaw cpu altogether? Never happen. ATI is 3 steps forward & 2 steps backward, everytime. So go figure.

Somehow this all fits together in eaches own tier. Seems like very Hot Year is going to start up with school this year.

"Nvidia Geforce 9900GTX *snip* it's now expected in July, not September."

way to go on having something thats IMHO very late, actually sound like its released early.

I and I bet lots of other people where expecting a new generation graphics sometime before X-Mas 2007.. that makes this card atleast 7 months late.. oh well atleast its on its way now.
Nv should dump intel, stick with the affair with AMD, then buy, no, get married with AMD.
intel will cry? no, maybe, perhaps. who knows

there you go folks, the first legal IT homosexual marriage in United States, a perfect happy ever after.

Nv + AMD/ATi marriage = ANvTi LOL ROFL

(Geforce11000GTX + HD48??XTX = ?)
+
(CPU + GPU = ?)

"redesign motherboard please, its been the same for too long."

That can be done with a single 386....
(no maths co pro)
Ma u pravu si !

hmmm... can anyone tell me what speed and how many cores it would take to run a human being ??educated to GCSE standard of course.

Maybe Nvidia and Intel have already bedded in and this war of words is just to keep AMD off the trail..
