You don't catch females, because females carry the eggs on thier bodies. You are supposed to throw them back when they are spawning.



Instead of salt or lemon, drawn (melted) butter is my choice. Baked potato (with and eding "e" for the Quail spelling) instead of chips. 
It is an American thing.
