Hey Ed, of course it's cool at idle no matter how much you OC, since at idle it runs at the preset low speeds, you can OC to 900MHz and it would still show the same temperature.. at idle.

And yeah this wasn't an article but a press blurb and the decoding bit is the standard 48xx PR statements.
Also the 'the standard edition runs UPTO 625/993' is nonsense of course, you can OC it like any HD4850.
facts straight....its max thermal is 110w...its a 48"50"...not a 4870. The Zalman is excellent and knocks 30+c off the core temp at stock clocks vs. the single slot cooler other 4850's come with....yeah I said 30c. How do I know ? I have a 4850 and changed out the stock cooler to a Zalman...also boosted the core to 675mhz and it still idles under 40c vs 63c for the stock cooler at 675mhz....
That Zalman cooler probably costs more than a standard double slot cooler, yet whats it's point ? Sure it'll be quiet at first but once those 160 watt start dissipating inside the case it won't be very cool at all.
In addition, the new cards offer improved memory management architecture and an upgraded video hardware for smooth decoding of Blu-ray, HD DVD and Mpeg content.

Say what? That is standard on any HD 4800 series card! Am i missing something?

That is why you should have adequate air flow through your case...
