Probably the last thing I would ever do is install an MS compatibility layer on my Linux boxes. The more so if it were made by MS.

ms knows what it's doing. Too many industries would be destroyed if they went the 'start from scratch' route now (gaming, e.g.). Would be a big disaster. Instead ms should work with the other guys, like make an addon for linux to run windows stuff WELL. That would rock even if that cost $199. lol

Wow. Wonderfully insightful and descriptive article. Completely agree with the starting over from scratch idea. Backwards compatibility has it's kicks, but insecurity always has a way of of rearing its ugly head. Well done.
