Hi, I'm just here to say that GTA 4 needs to get it's bum bum on the PC. Why?, Mods, better patches to fix bugs, better online play. Far superior graphics, with the right system specs, NO LAG! Oh and yes console games do lag, and GTA 4 is one of them, you personally might not of experienced it, but reports state that itt has been quite laggy. Oh and since this game was created on a PC, it's time that the little hatchling gave something back to mother goose and all its supporters!! Peace out PC gaming FTW Console fanboys FTL!

"One or more players is experiencing network problems. Returning to single player". Has anyone ever had that when just about to start a multiplayer game? I get it all the time and it annoys me! Can anyone help me out? (Preferably answers for PS3 version)

Lets put this all into perspective... of all the gta4 owners on ps3, this is only affecting a very small number who have since grown in size magically everytime we read an article on the Web about this... yet we never get any comments from these people. The only reason this is news is because of the hype pre-release.

Sorry PS3 fanboys....but the 360 version is actually better. Lets review the FACTS.

1. Framerate - They are very close but the edge goes to 360. Some reviews are saying that the 360 is slightly better. IGN states that they are the same. So anyone saying they are in favor for the PS3 are wrong.

2.POP IN - The general opinion on this is the 360 version has slightly more popin.

3. PIXELS - 360 version runs at 720p. While the PS3 version only runs at 640p.
This reason alone PROVES the 360 version is better, I'm sure if the 360 version ran at 640, they framerate and popin would be significantly better than the PS3.

4. HD install - PS3 requires users to install the game to the HD. Lame, but it does improve load times...making them slightly better than 360.

5. DLC - 360 will get it...the PS3 version won't.

6. Acheivement - 360 version has it, the PS3 doesn't



So...final score.

1. Framerate...slight edge to 360
2. POP IN....slight edge to PS3.
3. PIXALS...clear 360 edge.
4. HD install....even. (it sucks, but does help loadtimes)
5. DLC...clear edge 360.
6. Acheivements....clear edge 360.

Fanboys of all types are shouting to defend 'their' console against a (perceived) slight.

Come on people, its a friggin' toy, not your nation of birth.

The real problem here is the worrying amount of new games that ship with bugs; the new console's ability to patch have created some very lazy Q&A teams lately.

My friend, we all know that the PS3 was released a year later than the XBOX360. If you read the facts however, the PS3 was released late due to the Blu-Ray technology being placed into it and not a HD-DVD external drive; and we all know who the winners and loser are there, don't we?

Slightly better? I'd take slightly better PS3 than an not so better XBOX360 any day since it comes with a Blu-Ray drive as standard.

All this talk about a wider range of games being available on the XBOX360... What games? I can name only two games thats worth buying on the XBOX360 thats not on the PS3, BioShock and Halo 3. 

GTA4, COD4, PES2008 and The Orange Box are all on both platforms...

... Sorry, there's loads of award winning XBOX Exclusive games such as Operation Darkness, Earth Defense Force 2017, Over G Fighters, Banjo-Kazooie 3 and Lost Odyssey, just to name a few... Excellent games.

The reality is both consoles seem to have a limited amount of people who are having trouble, although this in many respects is to be expected the more PC like both become.

As for the difference between consoles the reality also is they aren't going to be greatly different because it uses RAGE game engine and Rockstar wouldn't be using much customising between versions. The whole point of RAGE is to save time when releasing on multiple platforms, pre RAGE they used Renderware.

Well, looks like that's another myth that bites the dust.
I'll stick with my PC, thank you. As long as I have to surf for patches and download bugfixes, I prefer doing it with a proper computer, not a toy redux.

I went along to the midnight release at GAME with y friend to get his copy on GTA4 on PS3.

Got back and installed to the HDD no problems all 3.3gig of it and his has the luanch 60GB model. Only thing thats dying is his SixAxis controller.

If the PS3 version is better, it slight, and how sad is it that the PS3 can't demolish anything on the more then one year older 360. The fact 360s version can said to be better and or comparable is a slap in the face to sony however you look at it

Doesn't anyone find it weird that over 5 video games sites (incl.IGN & GAME TRAILERS) reviewed the ps3 version & didn't have any problem like this.You see a couple of days ago people where saying that the ps3 version would outsell the xbox360 version 3-1.
So microsoft's boyz decided to spread this rumour that the PS3 version just doesn't boot or switch's off your ps3.Now PS3 noobies will listen to that and not buy the ps3 version,therefore making sure in the long run that xbox360's sell better.

I don't know if this is some kind of compaign from XBOX, that's a bit far fetched. What is certain is that the games rock hard and it is sad and substandard of the testing process that these problems made it through. No doubt we will ALL be enjoying an update soon. cough.

mark you are pathetic, there is not one reviewer that said the ps3 version is significally better. Why to overstate something.

they all said the differences are slight. and some even say the 360 seems a bit better in framerate and colours.

After the huge increase in console failures around the launch of any big 360 game, this to me sounds like Microsoft's army of programmed supporters going into defence mode, particularly since the PS3 version is clearly better.

My PS3 copy has been fine. I wonder how many people this REALLY affects?

Microsoft are in damage limitation mode right now, after virtually every game site that did comparision reviews between the PS3 and 360 versions, came out saying the PS3 version was significiantly better, with less pop-up, better framrates, more realistic colours, and less load times (thanks to the mandatory 7min install).

So 5 out of 5 of co-workers experiencing this problem, along with me. This is across Xbox and PS3. I have a PS3, and I turn of networking to get around it. This is a straight up bug, affecting not just 1% like mike said. It didn't happen for me until I was about 20 hours into the game.

A. The only reason the ps3 version doesn't look phenomally better is because the game was not designed from the ground up with the ps3 and its capabilities in mind. Dont worry we all know that ps3 is the powerhouse this generation and once developers realise that if they produce quality games people will purchase them, then we're stuck with cross platform crap and fanboys sucking each other.
B. You PC users are the dumbest ever. I love my PC, and yet you claim that games play best on PC? I've yet to install a game whether retail or torrented that installed and played right the first time. With a console you're getting a guarantee it will work fine. (or at least thats what it used to be)
C. WTF is this nonsense with microsoft spreading rumors? Obviously something went wrong at Rockstars end and the game doesnt function properly. Only thing left to do is make a big deal out of this and make sure Rockstar resolves it in a timely manner, until then, I'm going to continue on with my life...

Having both the 360 and PS3 units in the house I have found that the PS3 is having issues with GTA 4. 
But when I come on here I find that the Jump in and make up something to cover for Sony group is in full force. I have come to the point that if it is posted by the PS3 group I just can not take what they say as truth or valid data. And that is bad as there are very many PS3 owners who are very honest people. One day I guess the kids will learn that it's not there fault and the do not have to cover for the machines and the company's that made them.

Linking to an article on a PS3 forum, where the majority of users will have PS3.

Why not link to the XBox forums that show equal percentages of Xbox owners having the same problem.

The fact is, fanboy spin aisde, there is no major issue here, there is a small issue that affects a number of PS3 AND 360 systems. 

I would go further to suggest these consoles, were faulty anyway, and all we are seeing is a raised awareness of them, because every man and his dog with a PS3 or 360, is playing GTA IV right now.

The reality is, this is a less than 1 percenter..
