I just came across this article after learning about it in a Twitter tweet. Where have I been sleeping all that time?

This is very disturbing to know that the tools you should be trusting the most could be spyware in disguise.

I guess the only way to make sure nothing is leaked at a given moment is by unplugging the Ethernet cable or turning off WiFi.

Or... I recently tried a small application that makes this much more convenient. It's called Net CeaseFire. Works great for me - connects and disconnects the Internet without disconnecting me from the file server. Cool.

If you google "Net CeaseFire" it will come up first.
