i've been reading the reviews to see what's out there regarding performance and so far it all looks good. i've ordered a copy for first hand experience, so we'll see.
one thing regarding performance are threads being processed in parallel. one problem on previous versions, which anyone on a network should have noticed by now, is finder freezing when a network share has been disconnected while searching to make sure it's not there. parallel processing now allows finder to look while we do other things, according to reviewers.
some may say rosy as it's the same OS with some great changes, nothing that appears to be impacting performance as of yet (i'll know more later).
uninstalling is a concept that we don't really need to know about on this OS, btw... however, there are "uninstall" automating programs out there that also remove preference files and library files, etc. and someone said an OS that does everything for us? not really... but finding documentation isn't too hard either.
i hope they haven't gotten rid of stickies..... :)
It would be nice to have some proof 'how' and 'why' everything is rosy with Leopard. Saying all that just because it's new and hip makes all those authors inept idiots sadly.

You're not buying a fluffy toy. Not to mention all the talk about having 'full control' on a system that does most things for you is moronic.

Have you ever had a walk through Mac OS troubleshooting for something? Even as benign as uninstalling properly?

Didn't think so...
I use both OS's, and I definitely saw all of the above mentioned features in a Mac OS first, OSX 10.3 had most of them, and 10.4 was out with front row before media center, and media center is still very clunky if you ask me.
Perhaps most of the people trying to get the d/l are Comcast subscribers and kept getting those nasty little disconnet packets 'anonymously' inserted into their data stream?

u forget, MS got all the fame back in '95 ;)...
what i really wanna know, though...is the OS as nimble and quick as the previous versions of 'newer versions' of the OS or does this cat stuff up my system like microsoft? :) i'll search n see what we can find.
Apple's the company it's fashionable to love, Microsoft is the company people love to hate. Is it any wonder that people get excited about Apple's newest OS revision?

I personally find it funny that, when Microsoft offers an OS with features that were present in other places first, they're ripping people off... when Apple does it, they're innovating and providing new exciting software solutions.

Spaces? Virtual Desktops.
Time Machine? File backups for idiots who delete their documents.
Boolean operators and multi-system search? Old news to Vista users.
Front Row? Media Center.
Cover Flow? XP's Filmstrip view with a 3D effect.
iChat enhancements? Yahoo and AIM offer the same.
Boot Camp? Windows sure doesn't mind multiple OSes on one system...

Who wants to bet that, 2-3 years from now, when Microsoft puts out Windows "Seven", they're going to be trash-talked for copying Leopard features which are actually copies of XP features which probably originated elsewhere anyway?
I have a new name for Apple fanatics.

Henceforth. let them be known as "Leotards".

:)
The previous OS X didn't have all this stuff which we're all used to?

Apple release OSX to work on a cheap custom built system I might buy it, till then Windows and Linux only for me
vistauser's lower lip is quivering

I cansee the cat hasn't got your tongue!
The whole BT premise is the more users you have the faster the xfer speeds as a whole - why state slower speeds for buk user xfers?

When will a Microsoft OS receive these kind of praises?

Better yet... will that day ever come?
