this is an article about a soldier that posted highly sensitive stuff on his facebook account. i was a soldier, i also posted pictures. it's fun - posting pictures of you and your old friends.
however - we too easily forget that it's just as accessible to foreign intelligence. 
i've personally witnessed pictures where you can clearly see code maps and radio call signs and frequencies in the background.
posting this stuff is definitely a matter of national security!
he was punished, as he should have been. 19 days in military prison is nothing. my friend did a 14 day stint just for falling asleep on guard duty one time...

please, leave your uninformed, inflammatory political statements out of this.

That was quality, and and sums up this so called 'Moral Army'. For more evidence why not read what soldiers had to say about their 'activities' in:

Shovrim Shtika, or Breaking the Silence.

They cover a range of experiences...petty harassment by soldiers, to soldiers beating up Palestinian residents without provocation, looting homes and shops, and opening fire on unarmed demonstrators.

Less we forget about ALL the UN resolutions Israel blantantly violates. No no wait, those resolutions are in place and applicable for Muslim countries only (waiting to be invaded). 

After all you can't just wage an illegal war can you?

You don't take pictures of your military technology to post on the internet. Well, go figure.

Some people are taking this as "proof of fascism," because certain people believe in an occupation and so on, agreeing with David Landau's the editor of Haaretz's suggestion that we should concede everything and humor everyone.

Note: the word believe (the left and the right now both fap about the importance of believing, and agree with Said and Chomsky, as opposed to Makiya for instance.)

1.it's no secret in israel that foreign intelligence agencies are tring to track and possibly use soldiers.

the Israely army is by far more humanist than EVERY other nation i saw.
look what happened in iraq, turkey, germany, tibet, Georgia when you quetion the Israelies moral.
a wrong missle in lebanon did far more media noise that what people talked about what the russians did in georgia or the all the "moral" armies in Iraq.
somebody counted killings there? and maybe there was a report, but that's all.
i'm not justifying anything but saying that if another country was sending missiles and get suicides bumbs killing your friends you would understand that.
and even if you don't like it Israel won a war and got this territory.

i haven't heard anything about the hundreds of thousands who were killed there.

we talking about SOLDIERS that serve in the ARMY and in any army the obey a commander so if he said no f*cking pictures on secret places on the web he knows that it will put in danger a whole country if he doesn't plus he must obey or get jail time.

They published the rule, and no doubt all commanders communicated it. Willful disregard of legal orders is punishable under every military legal system in the world - and despite your sarcastic comments about the "probable mission" of this soldier it is folks like this who make it possible for you to spout your silly nonsense.

The Israeli's are a funny people!

On the one hand you have them wanting a pity party for "the Jewish plight".

On the other they embrace the methods that were for so many years employed aginst them by the likes of Muslim extremists and the Nazi's.

And in full light they end up not being any better or worse than those they oppose.

- Unwarranted and shady arrests, restrictions of personal liberty, detentions, questioning and torture.

- Covert information gathering conducted against "friendly" nations resulting in the theft of state secrets.

- Uber-super-secret nuclear research. That took even friendly nations by suprise (see second bullet).

- Biased profiling and treatment based on religious affiliation and ancestry.

They definately do not want a peaceful Middle-East lest they lose the control they have applied through the guise of protection.

Dang! I guess Dubbaya, Cheney and the Israeli's DO have alot in common;-)
