Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3

FIRST PERSON SHOOTER Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 will launch at midnight tonight.

The game is the third in the Modern Warfare series created by world renowned games developer Activision. The outfit has only taken a break from the series to release Black Ops.

After much anticipation, the game will go on sale at midnight tonight at a number of stores across the UK including some supermarkets. Game's flagship store on Oxford Street in London will be holding a launch event including abseiling soldiers and the chance to meet 'real-life' characters from the game, Captain MacTavish and Captain Price.

There will also be a green screen to put customers into a screenshot from the game and a "surprise delivery of the game, in true CoD style."

Activision said the UK launch will be streamed to fans via Youtube and Facebook including interviews, multiplayer championships and coverage of UK artist Example.

Modern Warfare 3 will be available in PS3, Xbox 360 and PC formats. It is on the cards that the game will outsell one of its biggest rivals, Battlefield 3. EA said that Battlefield 3 is its fastest selling game ever after selling 5 million copies in one week.

If you have managed to get hold of a copy of the game, you might want to think twice before putting the disc in early. Xbox Live director of policy and enforcement announced last week that trying to play Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 early could "impact your account!" µ
