JAPANESE GAMING LEGEND Nintendo has announced a blue Sonic themed Wii console that will tip up on 18 November.
The bundle will include Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games and a console with a blue colour theme in honour of Sonic the hedgehog. A Sonic/Sega themed Nintendo console would have been unheard of previously as the two companies were rivals for so long.

Nintendo said, "The new Wii bundle, launching across Europe on 18th November 2011, includes a newly configured blue Wii console, blue Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuk controllers and a copy of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games - as well as a sticker sheet featuring characters from the game"
The bad news is that the new configuration means that the console no longer supports Gamecube games and controllers. Nintendo has also given WiFi connectivity the boot in favour of a wired Ethernet port.
The new console will arrive just in time for the Christmas period in the hope that more people will pick up a Wii before the firm brings its Wii U, a tablet style controller. The bundled game will feature Olympic events such as Football, Show Jumping and Canoeing.
Nintendo said it will be announcing more Wii bundles this Autumn. µ
