Gears of War 3 launch set for 20 September

ONE OF THE biggest games of the year is Gears of War 3 which is set to launch at midnight on 20 September worldwide.

Microsoft and Epic have jointly announced that more than 20,000 retailer will open their doors at 12:01 AM on 20 September to fans who are on the edge of their seats waiting for its release.

"This is by far the biggest, most polished, and most ambitious game we've ever made," said Cliff Bleszinski, design director at Epic. "I've been lucky enough to work on some big games throughout my career, but ‘Gears of War 3' represents a crowning achievement for our team, and we can't wait to share it with fans next Tuesday."

In the UK the 18 rated title will get its main launch at Game's flagship store on Oxford Street in London. The US will see it launched at 13 Microsoft stores among others.

We got to have a play on Gears of War 3 earlier in the year at Microsoft's Christmas Showcase and we thoroughly enjoyed our brief time with the game's multiplayer mode.

In addition the game will also be the first in the Gears of War series to get 3D support and join only a handful of Xbox 360 games that offer the the feature. µ
