JAPANESE GAMING LEGEND Nintendo will bring out a Flame Red version of its Nintendo 3DS in the US on 9 September.
The new colour of the console is just the latest in a number of announcements aimed at getting customers to jump on the 3DS band wagon. A price cut will come into effect on 12 August in the US making the suggested retail price stand at $169. The current price on Nintendo's web site is $249.

The Flame Red model will join the current Cosmos Black and Aqua Blue colours to make a trio of options. Nintendo also said that it will launch Star Fox 64 3D at the same time as the Flame Red console.
Nik Nayar, VP of merchandising at Target said, "The new, lower Nintendo 3DS price combined with a hot new color and big-name games will entice even more Target guests to get their hands on this first-of-its-kind 3D gaming experience,"
It was only yesterday that we learned the 3DS will be getting another lure for customers in the form of free WiFi hotspot access in the UK provided by The Cloud.
Nintendo hopes to boost sales of its glasses free console that has sold more than 830,000 units in the US since launch with the addition of two big game titles set for this Autumn and later this year. It confirmed that Super Mario 3D Land will tip up in November, while Mario Kart 7 will come just in time for Christmas in December. µ
