GAMES HOUSE Activision has been inundated by gamers wanting to try its Call of Duty: Elite demo.
As applications keep rolling in, invites have finally started going out and dedicated Call of Duty gamers all over the globe can finally fire their graphics rendered rifles into the virtual air in triumph.
Some of the 2.8 million wannabe testers will already have their passes to experience CoD's new shooting social network that will be waiting for them when they get home today.
After this initial wave of invites Activision intends to solicit the service of more gaming guinea pigs before its official release alongside Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on 8 November.
So far almost 10 per cent of CoD's 30 million strong fanbase have put their names forward to help iron out the creases, solve glitches and improve select features of Elite, which poses as a social network for Call of Duty players.
Gamers are able to see very detailed stats from number of kills through to kills per weapon, preferred weapons and even kills in a certain locations on a particular map. You can then compare and contrast this data with your friends and even analyse it to see where your game need improving.
Chacko Sonny, studio head at Beachhead Studios that is developing Elite said, "Call of Duty: Elite is all about connecting our amazing fans around the globe in ways never before possible and we are excited to get their feedback so they can help us further develop, tune and test the service, as we head into our launch in November with [Call of Duty:] Modern Warfare 3.
"A public beta with the massive Call of Duty community is the best way to generate the scale we need for end-to-end testing. While Call of Duty: Elite will continue to evolve post-launch, we want to deliver the most polished, complete and rigorously tested service possible on day one. We're looking to get as many participants in the beta as possible, so we ask that fans stay patient as we ramp up in the coming weeks."
