GAMES CONSOLE VENDOR Microsoft will attempt to seduce the UK masses by releasing a limited edition one stop shopping Kinect and Xbox 360 bundle in November.
There have been loads of Xbox 360 bundles but this is the first time the Vole has announced a Kinect bundle aimed to hit the shores of good old Blighty.
For £299.99 fanbois are going to get a pretty good package, depending on your thoughts about how good the gesture control is for gaming and the line-up of launch titles.
The Vole is also throwing in a 250GB hard drive and the streamlined new slim version of the Xbox 360. Naturally, gamers will also get the Kinect gesture control and another standard controller.
Punters will get the standard features you'd expect from the slimline Xbox 360 with 802.11n WiFi and touch sensitive controls.
From the 15 launch titles available, Microsoft has opted for Kinect Adventures, which has already received some good press. Just as well for the Vole because it is obviously hoping to replicate the success Nintendo has had with Wii Sports.
In fact, the other launch titles are a completely unimaginative rip-off of Nintendo titles with fitness and dance games aplenty. The only difference here is that you get to sit in front of the Kinect interface rather than using a controller.
How will it stack up against the PS3's Move controller? Well if content is still king then very well. Sony always gets the console technology bang on the money but it doesn't have a killer app in its launch line-up of titles to shift Move kit. µ
