Sony shows off a games motion controller
Firm moves on Move

JAPANESE ENTERTAINMENT, PC AND GAMING GIANT Sony has been demonstrating at GDC the motion controller it first began talking about last summer.

moveIt was showing off Move, which adds motion control to the Sony Playstation 3, at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco yesterday, and as expected it looked a lot like a Nintendo Wii controller with one of the handsets that has a knob on top.

The official European Sony blog has links to relevant videos, including some games demos and the GDC announcement, but our eyes keep drawing back to that glowing orb.

Sony's Playstation is hoping to appeal to its core fans and at launch will present players with a slightly 'overtaken by events' Tiger Woods golf game and the charming sounding "Dukes", a bareknuckle boxing fest. The Wii, it appears, it ain't.

Only maybe it is. Other titles include sports games offering things like archery, while another looks like an insane Japanese children's nightmare and yet another is a basic arcade shooter.

In order to join this gaming revolution, albeit late, gamers will need to buy a camera and controller, or just a controller if they already have a Playstation Eye camera.

Or they could just buy a Wii instead. µ

Looks like a sex toy.

I wonder if the round bulb at the top is the buzzling part or the knob to turn the vibrator on. Probably the second one, because the other end looks so much like a dildo.

The vibrating stops temporarily when your character loses a life in a game.
