Dear Mr Blank

MoD UFO files censored
Thu Feb 18 2010, 08:20

Having spent more than a good few hours savouring the contents of the newly freed government UFO files last week, we can't help but feel a bit disappointed to find out that they are edited.

Houses of ParliamentYes we noticed the strike outs, but we assumed that since these were documents from the Ministry of Defence, they were there for a good reason. It turns out that they were there for a bad reason. They were hiding insulting comments about members of the public made by people in the police and government.

We are not shy of the occasional insulting comment, and we are often the target of them. So if the MoD thought that they were worth recording, they are probably worth reading.

What is left is interesting. Included is Winston Churchill's short note of enquiry on the phenomenon of flying saucers, along with a number of reports and amusingly crude drawings, but there is nothing to persuade any non-believers.

Wannabe Fox Mulders will be unimpressed, but the files are certainly worth a read.
