Jobs still not dead

Another false report causes Apple to fall

THE MAINSTREAM press is staging a witch hunt after Apple’s shares tanked still further due to an erroneous internet rumour that Steve Jobs had croaked of a heart attack.

Ireport.com, a bog site owned by CNN, ran the rumour sparking a swift denial from Apple. Investors, who have not had a lot of good news lately, panicked and the cost of Apple stock slumped two percent. It got a bit better as word got out that the thin white Duke of Cupertino had not actually snuffed it.

The story claimed Jobs was rushed to the emergency room after suffering "a major heart attack."

Jobs must be a bit miffed that his loss to Apple was only worth two per cent. Maybe many of them did not believe the rumour as it required him to actually have a heart.

CNN later removed the posting from Ireport.com and disabled the user's account.

CNN attempted to reach the user but it turned out that the information it had been given when he signed up was a little creative.

The mainstream press has been banging on about how such terrible incidents highlight the risks involved with mainstream media organisations tapping into " citizen journalism".

Ireport.com, has said that it will give the Securities and Exchange Commission information about the author of the item.

Apparently the nice people from SEC rang Ireport for a quiet word about the posting and its effect on the share market.

It seems the poster 'Johntw' had never posted on Ireport.com before. µ

Propaganda network malfunction

Quite frankly, I find it more important to know that the white moose Albin is still alive. Too bad that it is being threatened by greed. Thanks for the link!

And CNN, well, they can shuffle whatever it is they produce where no sun shines. I find it extremely difficult to understand why anyone would still watch their "news".

Suss

Might be something worth an investigation, this could be a reasonably bright criminal working on the share market.
Start a rumour during very toey times that drops the share price of apple, buy up, then once everyone realises it's all a sham and the price goes back up sell the shares off for a quick buck.
