UK to run out of electricity this winter

EMBATTLED BLIGHTY looks like it will run out of electricity this winter, despite the fact that the energy companies are demanding you mortgage your house to pay their director’s obscene salaries.
According to the The Independent, computers throughout the land will run out of juice this winter because six of the nation's atomic stations are operating below capacity.
The UK has 10 operating nuclear power stations, each has two reactors. When they are working they supply a fifth of the power that keeps the lights on.
But two of the ten power stations have been out of action because of corrosion in their reactors. Another two have had one of their reactors closed down for months. And yet another two are having to run both their reactors at less than three-quarters of their normal power for safety reasons.
Of the four that are still going, one is to shut down in two years time and a second is partially closed for routine maintenance. A third is facing safety questions following the discovery of flaws in similar reactors in Japan.
Analysts are warning that if there is a harsh winter then the lights will start going out.
Looks like the real winners will be those who make a living making electrical backup gear. And wind farmers µ

Speculative Speculative SpeculativeWhat is wrong with todays society is that 'journalists' are looking for shocking words to sell their articles and the common average public are stupid enough to believe them.
We wouldn't have half the problems we have today if people would calm down, and approach a problem with a relaxed mind - instead of guns blazing 'WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE, THIS IS THE END!!!' mentality
A UPS...
...might come in handy.Really?
I'm still waiting for the 'Big Freeze' that the top newspapers reported 3 years ago. Newspapers are lame.England Runs Out of Money!!!
Heres article today from Telegraph. So Strand take that:Banks in crisis as billions wiped off share prices
The banking industry has plunged into unprecedented turmoil as share prices plummeted, knocking billions off the value of some of the High Street's top banks within minutes.
Drasher
HAHAHAHA!
And when my wife asked me "What do you need a UPS for?"This is what I should have told her!
2500VA UPS, if it's a brown out of less than 50 minutes, I'll never know.
Time to build and repair
Not sit around and whine about how bad it's going to be. Make a couple clean cole plants and build a couple new rectors and repair the old ones.We have a group of people in our country that just wants to sit around and whine instead of moving on a problem, aka Democrat party who think we can wave a magic wand and our problems will be solved while at the same time have stopped any new oil rigs, refineries, nuclear plans, coal plants anything that will help. They are our new marxist party but we will hope under the idiot liberal Hussein, our closet Muslim.
Story has it all...
...except the number one thing Britain should be doing: preventing most of the energy used for heating homes disappearing through the roof. Scaling back the need for "I need a full always-on cinema in my home" todger-exaggerating gadgets might also be a good idea. There's a lot of whining from the nuclear lobby, however, who apparently need more plants paid for by the taxpayer, even though they can't be bothered to manage the existing ones properly.
Good or bad
You know.. if the electricity goes out your modem and the internet servers and thus your internet goes out too, and a UPS can only power for so long and only the stuff you control, you'll be "HA I still got my comp running, but huh, where's my internet :o"And computers without internet are very frustrating, more so than no computers at all probably.
Easy fix..
.. just turn off a quarter of the CCTV cameras. That'll still leave well over eight per person.Disclaimer: To perform this estimate I used public school mathematics.
