Fabrik makes hard drive out of bamboo and aluminium

FABRIK has built a 500GB hard drive out of bamboo and aluminium.
The Simpletech 500GB is priced at $159.99, The drive itself is manufactured from recycled aluminium, while the external chassis is comprised of a significant amount of bamboo.
Matt McRae, vice president of marketing at Fabrik, pandered that the company was "making an effort to support the environment [and] adapting products to better meet consumer needs and interests."
The plug 'n' play drive is both PC and Mac compatible and utilizes Turbo USB 2.0 - which delivers up to 25 per cent faster performance than standard USB 2.0.
The Simpletech includes automated backup software and allows users to upload data to encrypted servers via Fabrik Ultimate Backup. µ

I'd guess that bamboo will insulate the heat from the hdd. Does it? Would this lead to a shortening of product life, since heat is bad for hdds?good effort, but
again, more people trying to cash in on the green pound whilst slightly missing the point and misleading peopleshame on you for such article, the ENCLOSURE only is made of nice happy smiley parts, NOT THE DRIVE IN IT, which is about 90% of the product
