Iphone hits recurring problem with Exchange servers

Users get that syncing feeling

ANGRY IPHONE USERS are having nightmares getting their new handsets to sync with MS Exchange calendars. Apple forums are buzzing with complicated fixes and workarounds.

The problems seem to lie with recurring calendar events and users are reporting that removing the offending events, or giving them an end date, fixes the problem in some cases.

But anyone with a busy life, and multiple calendar entries with more than one attendee will find the fixes both frustrating and time-consuming.

Users have also encountered problems with calendar entries dated before 1970 and flushing these seems, in some cases, to have fixed the problem.

One user has also reported that exporting calendars as a CSV file, deleting the data, and re-importing the saved file fixes the bug.

Apple has been made aware of the complaints and we expect a less intrusive fix to be released soon. µ

Ha-ha

So much for a phone that supposedly would sync flawlessly to the computer... what a bunch of noobs. In your face, Apple.

Expected

Now the question is "is it the iphone software, which it could be, or MS bad programing" since I am sure that software was tested by apple and microsoft, having some problems could be from something they miss in the million and millions of line of code. Get over it, today its a problem tommorow it will be an after thought. I do admit I have not had the problem at all with exchange server from my work, but then those guys do know what they are doing.

Hmmm

I work with Windows mobile PDA's and not syncing Calendars is quite often the least of our problems. There are not exactly reliable and troubleshooting is not very easy at all. Frankly a few missing calendar items is small fry, how about deleting all the emails from the device because its the only way to start the device syncing again.

WM7 for iPhone

You've worked with Window Mobile and syncing you calendars is the least of your problems?? What kind of stupid ffing comment is that?

We've rolled out 100's if not 1000's of WM5 and 6 enabled devices to go with their Exchange 2003 / 2008 environment, all without flaw. They work perfectly and are the business weapon of choice. Unless you're using Exchange 5.5 and WM 0.00bc1 beta like the other guy on here.. In which case you're a dick!

MciPhone isn't a business phone it's a gadget, so in your face Apple.. Incidentally, why would Microsoft waste any time in getting it to work, I wouldn't bother as the blame lies with Apple... Solution? WM 7 for iPhone.

Entourage Works

Meetings that I have created using Entourage which recur are making it to my iPhone. It's the meetings created in Outlook by WIndows users that are not. So where does the issue lie?
