SONY'S NEW PS3 ADD-ON PlayTV will hit the UK on September 10th according to the company's European boss David Reeves.

Reeves also confirmed speculation that the new peripheral would be able to record digital terrestrial TV streams at the same time as playing games on the popular console.

"It was very difficult for some of the tech guys but we had to include it in the firmware upgrade, 2.41, but it's done now", he told Pocket Lint.

The final retail price has yet to be confirmed but the initial price of €99 has not been changed since May when the new widget was first announced. µ
