Pope sends text to Aussie kids

Textual assault by senior priest

THE LEADER of the Catholic Church, Pope Benedict XVI has sent a mass text to thousands of Aussie followers at the climax of his tour Down Under.

Pope BXVI send a text message to pilgrims' mobiles which said, "The Holy Spirit gave the Apostles and gives u the power boldly 2 proclaim that Christ is risen! - BXVI."

More than 100,000 Aussie catholic pilgrims have been meeting up with his holiness and had, in faith, given him their mobile phone numbers.

Apparently the holy father had a few spare minutes and thumbs of fire to bang out 100,000 texts over the course of an hour. Blooming miracle.

There is a nasty snap of the Pope with a Jesus phone here to highlight the story.

Of course we were going to make a reference to the similes between the popish rally and a Steve Jobs keynote, but it was INQuisitored out by our Apple loving sub-editors. µ
