Iphone sold out in Blighty

Amid much consumer frustration

THOUGH THE INQ had no problems ordering its 3G Iphone this morning at 8am from O2, it seems many readers suffered.

A barrage of emails and comments from readers suggested that, in particular, the upgrade process for existing O2 users was filled with problems.

Upgrading or not, at various points during the day the site went completely down. Even during customer transactions, according to reader reports.

One reader wrote in with the following:

"Just 2 hours after release, or...at normal getting up time for bums known as students the o2 site is down and the telephone number they provide plays a lovely message of 'you can only buy the Iphone online' and then hangs up."

Users wishing to get the device online are now completely out of luck. O2's Iphone splash page reports that the Jesus-phone is out of stock online.

The site states to re-visit on the 10th of July - this Thursday, the day before the actual 3G IPhone launch day.

This evening, and somewhat ironically, O2's press office failed to pick up the phone, on repeated attempts.

We suggest your best chance at picking up a new Iphone is to go to your nearest O2 store on Friday morning. µ

life support machine ??

FFS its a phone !! what is the matter with peeps, have the lunatics taken over the asylum ??

i feel sooooooooo sad for peeps that put their lives (if you can call it that) on hold just because of furkin PHONE !!

it reminds me of when i quit quantity surveying many moons ago, one of the reasons being the *cough, 'profession' (and a lot of other so called 'professions) ethos was based on the premise that without QS's the whole world would come to a grinding halt.

well, hellooooooooooo, sorry to shatter your virtual world, but, eeeeeeeeeek, horror on horror, it wont !! grow up and get a life you aspireing losers, like him or not, i bet Alan Sugar wouldnt be seen dead with a jesus toy, let alone lose any sleep over the not having one !!

your like magpies, irresistably drawn to shiny objects that you MUST have, whether they are of use or not lol, you then proceed to display these objects in a mating ritual with the nearest shiny female to 'prove' your the best provider ??

well my friends, somwhere along the line your in for a very rude awakening, yawn, ive seen it all before, trust me i know these things lol, as soon as you cant provide enough said shiny objects for your equally shiny female, she'll find another that can, Freud would have loved to have lived to have seen this lot lol.

rant over :O)
