Microsoft loses to Alcatel-Lucent
Phones and computers not an IP violation
THE US INTERNATIONAL Trade Commission has said that Alcatel-Lucent had not violated Microsoft patents used in business telephone networks.
Microsoft claimed Alcatel-Lucent had broken four patents for IP-based phone software.
However, the ITC said that there were no violations despite thinking Alcatel-Lucent may have infringed on one of the patents in an earlier hearing.
Volish lawyer David Bowermaster said the software giant was disappointed but was looking at the ITC's judgement so that it could decide what to do next.
Microsoft was certain that Alcatel-Lucent would lose on one of the patents, he added
