GTX280 gets another airing
Updated Naked pics tip up
Update
ITOCP has removed the pics of the alleged GTX280’s PCB and GPU leaving only
photos of the heatsink. However, this german site was clever enough to copy the
pics before that happened.
IF YOU'RE ACHING to find out what the green goblin is up to, then you might be interested in visiting a certain thread at chinese site ITOCP.
According to the author of the thread, the images contained therein are those of the as of yet unreleased Nvidia GTX280. The card itself looks like a 9800GTX, sporting six phase power, two power connectors (one eight-pin, one six-pin), audio pass-through and two SLI connectors, meaning it's again targetting the Tri-SLI market.
The chip itself is hidden under the integrated heatspreader, but looks quite massive. You can see a decent close-up with some naughty bits blacked out. The chip reads G200-300-A2.
In the thread a "really well informed source" has also mentioned this will be the last of the single-core designs from Nvidia, with dual- and multi-core coming down the road.
If it really is the GTX280, then it's really looking like an all-out war this summer. µ

Tits or GTFORumours & More Rumours
Finally Name is right, GTX & one early glimspe I saw was with HDMI system having built in creative sound chip on it.Maybe Limited in Numbers? However, also other oddities that might be short lived card, are here:
The new infos confirmed that 9900 GTX will have 240SP, 32ROP, 512-bit and this means that it will support 1GB GDDR3 video memory.
Its TDP will be 240W and it will need one 6pin and one 8pin power connectors.
It is also said that the 9900 GTS will be 448-bit, 896MB video memory,
GTS is small brother of GTX. At least two GTX will exist 280 & 250. Short lived due to being based on 92 chipset, Low Number & in small brother edition it has very odd 448 bit width w/896 gb, couldn't just do gb. Big questions are dual GPU or Bigger memory, eg. 2 gb.for GTX 280.

Admendium
One extra Very Important feature is use of PhysX chip. If you look under magnification at card you see too identical sized processors hardwired onto it. One is GPU & other: PhysX.PhysX is NO Where near size of GPU in Transistor # & hasn't lot of instructions, Yet rumours are its goning to pick up score by bunch.
I suppose thats why 92 chipset was used, as opposed to 95 or 98. usually it might be mid level, yet ultimate has it demands & new PhysX & hopefully Creative 7.1 chip are smooth combo, time will tell. Sound chip has creatives 7.1 sound in it, who makes it,?
All this is hardly admendium, as Famous Hack mageekster had article last winter? or quite sometime past.
As people mentioned going from 9800 TOP name to 9900 dosn't sound like Much, yet its really FAR improved, in theory.

OPPS, its GTX 250

If website used conventional file formats i would just copy it, however thats NOT how this worked.

hmm
Ultie_Wonders:No GTX with GDDR3 is going to have 2GB of RAM.
The simple fact is, GDDR3 can only support a 512bit bus width, so anything over 1GB is going to be seriously bottlenecked by the lack of bus width, its not practical for a high end card at all. You should know this, if not, stop claiming to.
And there is no bloody Physx chip on the PCB idiots. Its calculated by the damned GPU in CUDA via the extra headroom on the unified shaders.

Come on Moderators, if this is not forum spamming I don't know what is.Besides that, I didn't know that they had Internet Access in psycho wards. Somebody needs to give drashek his meds.
Where's a straitjacket when you need one ?
Attack of the weird non-power-of-two memory configurations
448bit interface onto 896MB of RAM.And the Inquirer thought that 192/384 was bad.
