HP launches virtualisation kit

Thin client laptop, multimedia tech and gobbledegook

HEWLETT PACKARD has released a bunch of new hardware aimed at the the thin client market.

The HP 2533t laptop is a solid-state system with flash memory and no moving parts. It boasts a magnesium/aluminum display enclosure and uses an inner magnesium bonded shell to protect it from user abuse.

Weighing just three pounds and featuring a 12.1-inch diagonal widescreen LED display, the new offering has integrated Wi-Fi certified WLAN, 3G broadband via a PC memory card slot, three battery configurations and a docking system.

The HP 2533t is available today in the United States (for $850), Latin America, Asia and Japan. UK Pricing and availability were not available at time of writing but you can find more details here.

HP also announced further investment in its Remote Graphics Software (RGS) which improves the video performance of large virtual desktop systems using flash animations, video and hardware-accelerated 2D and 3D applications.

HP said its thin clients are certified for the Citrix XenDesktop appliance programmme across the line. µ
