Wii to get pole dancing game
Punters expected to lap it up
THE NINTENDO WII is about to increase its physical, educational and entertainment value tenfold by coming out with a new pole dancing game, which it hopes to integrate into its Wii-Fit line.
A company called Peekaboo, which already sells a non virtual version of the Carmen Electra pole dancing kit, aptly called the 'Electra-Pole', is reportedly working with Nintendo to produce a version of the game for the formerly family-friendly console. Nintendo must be letting its standards slide.
A spokesman for Peekaboo and licensing agency AT New Media, Simon Kay, claims that the game is aimed at both women and men and that pole dancing is great for "fun and fitness". He noted that the game would help people improve their pole dancing skills (an essential attribute in today's world, apparently), tone their bodies and burn calories. He also dubiously added that his company wants "to do for pole dancing what Guitar Hero did for rock n roll!" (What? Make it into a lame living-room fantasy for geeks who can’t actually play real guitars? Oh. Cool. Sounds good).
Sadly for pole dancing heroes and nerds, however, Carmen Electra apparently won't be involved in the new game, although Kay admitted that it was "Unlikely… but not impossible," that the buxom ex Baywatch babe could be involved in the game at some point in the future. Of course, if the company would just run a poll, we’re sure they’d see that what a popular option that would be.
AT New Media says that it is also planning on developing a mobile version of the pole dancing game. A mobile version? Probably only on phones with a very substantial antenna! µ

The only time I have seen poles with dancing involved was at a gentleman's club. That usually meant very little clothes and hanging upside down. I would imagine the inventor of this has logged many hours in the "club" Stay tuned for the "Wii-nee" another fitness toy!Title Rights?
I wonder if 'Pole Hero' has been copyrighted yet? Might be a chance to make some cash.travel fun
obviously the mobile version is for using on the tube or busPolish emigrants
They won't find much market in this country... all the poles are leaving!Silly me...
I'd imagined that Wii-nee's were bloody already using Polish Heroin down the Tube.Whatever. I wonder if Wii has their eyes on online interactive gaming; in witch case, gratuitous tipping may lead to sum substantial wonga from playpal.
Well, it's just a thought... You can run it up the flag pole and see what salutes!-)
Shame
Well, I think its a shame that your article seems so against the wii having a pole dancing game, it's not seedy, it's not for dark rooms and perverts. It's just a game.
Although, the article seems to have only been commented on by men.
Maybe jeslously of not having another game directed at you? As all other games are. Or just the fact that you don't have girlfriends who would dance for you?
Anyway, I think it's a great idea. It will sell out just as the wii fit.
Pole Dancer ? Great idea !
We have hardly enough professional pole-dancers at the moment. We need a lot more pole-dancers who are a joy to watch, and this "game" just might be the breakthrough to encourage girls (boys ? who are you kidding ?) to embrace this career path.I look forward to the follow-through in the coming years with the apparition of Pole-Dancer Academy, and, in the coming decades, the crown achievement of the Pole Dance Olympics Event.
The future looks good at this time.
By the way, my daughter will absolutely not be having this game.
Stick to the real thing
