Google is the only winner in Yahoo-Microsoft war
Excellent. [rubs hands]
VOLISH PLANS to take over Yahoo seem to be assisting rival Google to take over the world.
The strokers of beards and people in the know are starting to think that the hostile battle between Yahoo and Microsoft will get so tacky it is good news for Google.
One of the ideas that Yahoo is looking at to see off the Vole is an experimental advertising alliance with Google leading to a merger with AOL. Google also owns a five per cent stake of AOL.
The deal will help Yahoo buy back some of its stock at a price well above Microsoft's offer.
Vole has already said that if Yahoo does that, then it will moan about anti-trust to any regulator that will listen.
Recently MS has been talking about a deal with Rupert Murdoch's News Corp, as a way of getting its paws on Yahoo.
Again it is Google that will benefit from that sort of alliance because it has a long-term contract to show ads on Myspace. µ

Delays are good for Google
Even if the Yahoo-Microsoft acquisition eventually goes thru, it's still playing into Google's hands right now. The delays and drama that are happening is helping Google to lengthen their infrastructure and technology advantages. Meanwhile, both Yahoo and Microsoft are struggling to come to terms: http://fishtrain.com/2008/02/01/microsoft-is-their-own-downfall/Bleugh...
So today I try to log into my Yahoo! account and have to wait several minutes while it churns out propaganda about how I now have "More choice and more control!" under their new system. I had no control over this advertising and no choice but to click on the only menu button "See my new page!".We have a saying here. "Don't p*ss on me and tell me it's raining."
