Another senior AMD geezer legs it

Update Sinking, rats ship out

*UPDATE - Sheesh, yet another's gorn, it says here.

OH DEAR. To lose one senior dude could be seen as a misfortune. To lose four could possibly be seen as carelessness.

According to VR-Zone, AMD has just waved a tearful goodbye to Vijay Sharma, Director of the Product Marketing Graphics Products Group. Exactly whom shed the tears remains a mystery.

The official reason for the parting of the ways is the old chestnut of his wanting to pursue new challenges. Precisely what could be more challenging than flogging AMD chips remains an enigma wrapped in a riddle with a side order of incredulity.

As late as last week, Sharma had attended an AMD graphics partner conference in Thailand, so his departure would appear to be somewhat precipitous. Other senior AMD dudes who have cleared off recently include Henri Richard, Rick Hegberg and Dave Orton.

A bit more over here. µ

LOLZ

what could be more challenging then flogging amd chips ROFL thats a good one, its so true, I dont think ppl would take them if they are free atm, intel's product is just to good, and ppl would pay more then what they are paying for intel products purely because they r value for money

I think AMD are sacking these ppl, clearly there are big problems in amd, look at all the behind schedule, someone has to put the head on the chopping block for that, but it looks like a few are responsible

5% layoffs

Seems like the job cuts are quite real, and those who can get another job are leaving on their own ...

AMD WILL ALWAYS BE THE LEADER

deadwood

Just maybe if they keep moving the deadwood out some up and coming young talented people will start to move this company ahead and upward. A little profit now and then wouldn't hurt either!
