Bloke fined for speeding while 10,000 miles away

The Internet's not just for pr0n, you know

IT WOULD APPEAR that Australia's reputation for being populated by criminals is not entirely mythical. A bloke from Scunthorpe, England received a speeding ticket from the Adelaide, Oz police despite never having visited the country.

David Smart was somewhat gobsmacked to receive an £89 fine and a £14 late payment penalty after an Adelaide woman claimed he had been driving her car.

Smart told the Daily Mirror:
"I've never heard of her. I think she's gone on the Internet, looked up the electoral roll and gone, 'That one will do'."

Aussie plod are investigating. µ

Wrong choice

What a fool picking a real person... A politician just got busted for picking dead people as his 'drivers' here also. If you chose a friend of yours from overseas and pay the bill or pick someone from a country they dont chase up you dont lose your points and thus dont lose your licence
