Portable copy facility doesn't
AN UPDATE to the PS3 system software was released today though it did not include the much-anticipated Portable Copy facility, whereby a reduced resolution copy of your Blu-Ray movies could be plonked onto your PSP.
Blu-ray Disc Profile 2.0 (BD-LIVE) is now supported, which means users can now download additional content via a BB connection for compatible disks
The 2Gb cap has been removed from Divx video files and previous playback positions are now remembered for disks, even if they have been removed.
Mosquito noise reduction has been added to standard DVD playback. You can also play BD-R version 1.2 (LTH BD-R) discs.
Save Target lets you save a file that is linked from a Web page, such as an image or video file, or other type of file, to your PS3 system's hard drive or storage media. The Web browser now displays Web pages more quickly and you can play some video files as they are being downloaded. µ

Nope, still not interested.I paid big $$$ for an original PS2 (not on eBay or anything, just went to the store early to get one).
Even if I buy a HD television I don't think I'll buy Blu Ray either.
Not interested -- I think I outgrew that junk.
Besides, what's the next big thing? Maybe I'll buy one when it's obsolete, that seems to make the most sense. In the meantime I think I'll enjoy ignoring my old PS2.

Well, I enjoyed making fun of Sony. Actually I still do... But I went out and got the 80gb model, and find myself using it for a lot. Got it hooked to my projector. It's easy to share media to from my PC, connects to my wireless so i can play my movies and music on my surround. Plus downloading content to its drive is easy. Just downloaded pure pwnage to it to watch that series again. I do like my PS3, and Blu-Ray is amazing compared to a normal dvd. Honestly i see no need to ever buy a dvd again.Don't update to 2.20
For anyone who uses their ps3 to stream media (mp4 specifically) using a media server like TVersity then do not update to this firmware!! All of my MP4 films now stutter like a bad Norman Collier impression (look him up if you're under 30) and it seems to be a common issue! Well done Sony, not only can't you get it to play a lot of DivX stuff you've now managed to break one of the better PS3 functions! Absolute chowder heads.Finally

Working well for me.
All my MP4's still work flawlessly. There will always be idiots trying to stream video across wireless links and such. The other issue of course, is alot of these MP4's are of unknown origin, (i.e. Bittorrent). I expect if you encode them yourself using Handbrake and use a wired connection, then it will work just fine and dandy, like all mine do...Who's the idiot
