PS3 paradise is no naked bottom

Kid mooned at by console

A 12 YEAR-OLD boy was shocked when a feature on his PS3 game Burnout Paradise delivered a picture of a naked man's bottom to his console.

Burnout Paradise has a feature where if you bump someone off in the game it delivers a picture of your victim to your console.

What the designers failed to realise that users might not use their real picture, or, as in this case, might use a picture that might indicate their displeasure about being removed from the game.

This is why Najee Kennedy was a bit shocked when he saw a picture of a man mooning at him.

Najee's father, Charles Johnson, was deeply shocked by the sight of the other man's genitals. Neither had apparently seen another bloke's tackle before.

CBS TV have used the incident as an example of how paedophiles groom children for sex using Internet games, although there does not seem to be anything to indicate that Najee was being groomed for anything.

The coppers are hoping to get to the bottom of the incident and give the perpetrator a damned good spanking. µ

funny stuff

This is funny stuff! I mean conservatives can go please themselves with comments like 'shocking' etc. but when you stand back and look at it.. it's a laugh! I would be emailing more than that if a 12yr old beat me at some game.. heheh.. people take things way too seriously!

Just to point out..

The same feature is also in the 360 version of the game and could have equally (actually more likely) to have happened on there.

I dont know why people are making such a big deal, sure its not pretty but, much worse things happen on the 3shitty. Some people on there are just mad and gross!!

Paradise City

I have the PS3 version of the game, however, if the police REALLY want to catch the guy, all the kid ahs to do is look through his "Gallery" of players and then you get the persons online ID, then just share that with the police. Let's be serious for a minute, it was bound to happen sooner or later. What I find more disturbing is that the guy must have been sat playing the game with nothing in, at least down below, as the time you get to pose for the screenshot is about 2 seconds, maybe not that. So in that time you have to stand up, turn around and drop your trousers....He must have practiced a lot to get it down to a couple of seconds!
It's certainly not grooming a kid for sex, it's just not something you want to see while you're having your breakfast.

Really Worried

I am now seriously worried about this. I did the same thing the other day (drunk I may add). This is something that I will not be doing again, knowing what an uproar it can cause!

All this talk about grooming is completely rediculous though. I dont know who I am playing against. I wasn't speaking to them. I just have a name in front of me! It was just a sign of disapproval! I am sure that I am not the only one to do this though.

If it was me in this example, I hold my hands up, step forward and apologise!

Think of the children!

Another example of the ridiculous child-worshipping trend of today's adults.
I worry about kids being this sheltered and "protected" from every inconceivable threat finally becoming adults themselves and realizing they have to fend for themselves.
Unless they have access to a good lawyer, then they can legislate the world around themselves and force all the well-adjusted folks to conform to their view.

Keep the bums off!

See what happens when you have free online play Sony? All sorts of riff raff!

LOL

That's all very unsurprising, and smells like more fuel to kinds like Jack Thompson. No news here then.

But the last paragraph was very funny.

HA!

LOL im about the same age as that kid. and i would laugh, but if my mom saw it, she'd never let me play burnout ever again.
I play burnout all the time, and nothing happened like that, so far.

Oh my dearie me!

If it could be proven that these mooners were juicing with performance-enhancing steroids then we'd expect, perhaps, a government inquiry. Guvs couldn't be arsed about it otherwise. I expect we haven't seen the end of this. Did Nostradamus have any to say on this matter? It's the end of the world as we know it. Bloody Arse-Bighters! Use steroids if you're going to swyng that about. Yuck!

Has anyone heard the language used?

That is just the tip of the iceberg. If parents knew what was said in games like halo3 and other places, their ears might melt off.

How can these idiots claim that these people are paedofiles since you dont even know the age of the people you are playing against. THAT would be real new: PS3 magically detects and proliferates personal information to anyone who is in the same game (and the gov't etc.).

Oh noes!

Oh no a kid was mooned! Let's take down the Internet and destroy all video games that are corrupting an entire generation of youth! Arghhh!

Pedophilia? Bulls***!

First of all, I would like to say that this is hilarious!! I laughed so hard. The kid should know that it says "Game experience may change during online play" about the rating, so he has nothing on EA, or the clever player who mooned his PS Eye.

surely 12yr old kid musta laughed at sumthin like this? lol kids are meant to find stuff like that funny, or just family guy viewers :P

HAHAHAH

This is pretty funny. Why would this make the man a child predator? It's not like only kids play PS3 online. Maybe he's gay or maybe he just wanted to moon people for kicking him out of the game. What else would you have expected? I remember people mooning each on xbox live while playing uno with the web cam. What do these parents do when they hear other people talk shit to their kid online? I think it's time they take their kid offline until he turns 18 hahahhaa.
